A 36-year-old foreign national was detained on Saturday by Bengaluru police for attacking two police officers on patrol duty on Maragondanahalli in the final week of June. Asiedu Morgan, the detained guy, had been on the run since the incident and was ultimately apprehended by police in Noida, Uttar Pradesh’s sector 3.

Morgan and his four pals were discovered making a commotion in the KR Puram neighbourhood on the night of June 23 and their neighbours alerted the police, according to a police statement.

When the police came, he got into an altercation with the officers and, in a fit of fury, slammed his car into their motorbike. According to the police statement, the employee had to get off the bike to avoid the attack.

According to a senior police official familiar with the situation, the incident at Maragondanahalli impacted the police’s decision to undertake searches around the city to find foreigners who had overstayed their visas. Five residences were searched by a team of six ACPs, 20 police inspectors, and over 100 police constables during these searches, according to a statement from the CCB.
