Domestic flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 2 may restart on July 22, according to IndiGo, a low-cost carrier.“Beginning July 22, 2021, flight numbers 6E2000 – 6E2999 will arrive and leave from Terminal 2, Delhi. IndiGo wrote on its website, “Please check your flight number and terminal before departing for the airport for a hassle-free journey.”
Flight operations at Terminal 2 have been halted since May 18 as a result of the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus illness (Covid-19) pandemic, which has resulted in decreased passenger traffic and fewer flights.
All flight operations have been relocated to Terminal 3, the Delhi airport’s only operating terminal.
According to a storey published in the Times of India on July 16, officials from the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) also stated that Terminal 2 could open this month.
A DIAL spokesman told the newspaper that in February of this year, they handled a peak of 120,000 passengers on both domestic and international flights each day, the highest since the Covid-19 epidemic in March of last year.
