DDMA permits public fairs and exhibitions in City

From Thursday, public fairs and exhibitions will be permitted in Delhi, as part of a phased resumption of economic activities disrupted by the city’s lockdown during the second wave of COVID-19.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued an order on Wednesday allowing such exhibitions and fairs to be held in banquet halls throughout the city. Business-to-consumer exhibitions will be permitted in the city beginning September 16, according to the statement, which also stated that organisers must adhere to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s standard operating procedure (SOP), and that if any violations are discovered, strict penal or criminal action will be taken.

According to the SOP, venue providers must implement measures such as separate entry and exit for visitors, disinfecting halls before handing over possession, establishing permanent isolation centers, and a well-planned garbage disposal.
