Why “Basar” is Hidden in the heart of the state, Arunachal Pradesh

The hidden town Basar in Arunachal Pradesh is still unknown to the locals of the state, can’t ignore the dozens of attractive and calm trek trails, heartfelt caverns, and deep jungles.

Apart from all the beauty and trails, The Galo people which are the locals, put so much effort just to make one’s experience of exploring the place better with their kindliness and endearments for everyone. Once someone goes there they don’t want to come back, not only for the scenic beauty but for the locals, who treat every traveler like their own family member, but yes in actual Basar have not much to see but only a transit point. People also visit Basar for Basar Confluence, which is an annual festival. It is a confluence of contemporary with traditional and folk art, a showcase of the unique culture of the Galo tribe through traditional dance and contemporary Galo music. And a lot more of it, I will talk about in a separate post. The locals provide there own home to stay in during the confluence and then later you can easily explore the whole Basar

Basar is also appreciated for its cleanliness and termed as a ‘plastic-free zone’ you will found no stone on the road, and making it a quaint hill destination with a connected motorable road, even the locals made dustbins made of Bamboo, their main motto is to make the whole town should be spotless. Actually, the place should be on everybody’s bucket list not only for places to explore but to know the tribe, know the friendly tribe of Arunachal The Galo tribe.

Travel the wilderness of the place too:

  • Tapen Penru / Bat Cave

you have to walk a bit to reach the bat cave and cross the jungle to see specific bats inhabiting their, cave is a bit smelly, wear a mask if you cant tolerate the smell, covered with bat shits if you think you can go deep inside, it is quite impossible for you to reach the end, and you can also experience listen to the buzzing of the bees.

When you will start the trek make sure you don’t miss the waterfall, and the sunset view from there, well, you must experience some discomforts during your treks like leech and mosquitos, but when you will reach the beautiful scenery the whole trek will be worth it, you just can’t stop your eager to experience more of it.

    Why do people see ghosts?

The locals also believe that ghosts live there, there are some various stories and myths that are believed by the locals, plus a way to the hidden waterfall with footprints of Yapom can take you to a whole new dimension of trekking in the wild.
