Sikkim to receive Science Centre & Digital Planetarium

A.D. Chaudhary, Director General of the National Council of Science Museum, and S. Kumar, Director of the National Council of Science Museum, paid a visit to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang at his official residence in Mintokgang today. They discussed establishing a category-2 Science Centre and Digital Planetarium in Sikkim during the call, according to a CMO release.

The proposal was warmly received by the Chief Minister, who emphasised the importance of establishing it in Nandugaon, South Sikkim. He claims that this Science Centre project, as well as the Herbal Medical & Spiritual Healing Complex, will boost the area’s tourism industry.

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will support the aforementioned project. The secretary of state and other senior officials from the Department of Science and Technology were also present, according to the press release.

The current Sikkim Science Centre at Marchak, Ranipool, East Sikkim has been set up under Sikkim State Council of Science & Technology in collaboration with National Council of Science Museums, Government of India and attracting considerable number of visitors specially students and the general public and tourists
