Nagaland: Sepak takraw players selected to attend coaching camp in Goa

The Nagaland Olympic Association, on Friday, announced that four Sepak takraw players namely Sezovelu Dozo, Rukuvinu Tsukuba, Angsang Konyak, and Akumtila have been selected to attend the Jr. National Coaching Camp in Goa.

Sepak takraw or kick volleyball differs from the similar sport of footvolley in its use of a rattan (woven) ball and only allowing players to use their feet, kneed, and head to touch the ball.

Sepak takraw is a popular sport in Southeast Asia. With acrobatic kicks similar to football, it is indeed an entertaining sport to watch.

The game takes its name from the countries where the sport is most popular. Sepak is the Malay word for kick, and takraw the Thai word for woven ball.
