Assam’s government has declared October 30, 2021, to be a paid holiday. All factories, plantations (including tea plantations), shops and commercial establishments, establishments for public entertainment or amusements, contractors establishments, firms, and other industries/workshops, commercial and business establishments, and banking institutions in Assam have been notified of the holiday.
The above establishments within the jurisdiction of the 28 – Gossaigaon have been granted a paid holiday. Bhabanipur is number 41, and Tamulpur is number 58. Workers/employees in Assembly Constituencies 101 – Mariani and 107 – Thovvra will be able to vote in the bye-elections to the Assam Legislative Assembly, 2021 in the said constituencies.
Because the legislative assembly in Assam has a total of 126 constituencies, if the BJP crosses the magic number of 64 after this by-election, it will become the only dominant political party in the house and will be able to break free from the alliance with the UPPL and the Asom Gana Parishad if it so desires.
Because its representative, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal, resigned from the assembly hours after the Election Commission announced the poll schedule, bye-elections for the vacant Majuli seat, which was left vacant for the AJP, have yet to be scheduled. On November 2, votes will be counted, and the election process will be completed by November 5.
