Organizations lifts Assam-Nagaland Economic Blockade for 36 hours

The economic blockade since 15th of November has been removed for 36 hours from Wednesday at the New Sonowal BOP near Assam-Nagaland border on Mariani-Mokokchung Road.

A meeting has been scheduled between the deputy commissioner and SP level of Jorhat and Mokokchung districts on Wednesday to discuss about the ongoing inter-state boundary dispute, based on which the organizations decided to remove the blockade.

Since November 10 the inter-state boundary is under heated state following construction of a temporary base by Nagaland administration within the Dissoi Valley Reserve Forest under Mariani range of Jorhat Forest Division and for deploying armed Nagaland policemen at the site.

Responding to the situation the Assam Police too, on November 11 had put up

A temporary camp has been set up by the Assam Police from 11th of November to hold any disruption from Nagaland.
