Kaziranga National Park receives 6 new motorcycles to help with security

Six sleek motorcycles were gifted to the park authority on Saturday to be deployed in six beats under the park to help with wildlife conservation efforts in the famed rhino abode of Kaziranga National Park. The motorcycles were provided by Aaranyak, a leading wildlife conservation organisation, with the support of the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) and the Rhino Rescue Fund (RRF).

The Director of the KNP, P Shivkumar, received the motorcycles from Secretary General of Aaranyak, Dr. Bibhab Kumar Talukdar, at the Kaziranga Centenary Convention Centre here. He said the six motorcycles would be deployed in six separate forest beats under KNP & TR, including three newly established beats.

According to the KNP Director, the motorbikes are being deployed under the Shrutirpar, Bhomoraguri, Haldibari, Bandardubi, Kothalchang, and Burapahar Beat Offices to assist field forest officials in maintaining constant contact with fringe villagers and Eco Development Committees, which complement wildlife conservation efforts in the National Park.
