The Assam government issued new Covid-19 guidelines on Tuesday, relaxing curfew timing in the state, with night curfews starting at 11 p.m. instead of 10 p.m.
According to the order issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, commercial establishments can remain open until 10 p.m., and restaurants and eateries can only serve with 50% seating arrangements until 10 p.m.
“After 10 p.m., takeaways and food items from restaurants, dhabas, and other eateries will also be prohibited,” it stated.
All government employees (both contract and fixed-term) who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine are welcome to come to work. In addition, the release states that government and private organisations providing essential/emergency services, law enforcement services, and election work will continue unabated in all districts.
With Covid-19 appropriate behaviour in place, “goods transportation shall continue unhindered” and “auto-rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, and taxis can operate for passengers with 100% seating capacity,” according to the release.
Marriages and religious functions with fewer than 50 people in attendance will be permitted, and they must include at least one dose of vaccine. At iconic religious sites, no more than 60 people fully vaccinated per hour will be allowed. At other religious sites, 40 people are fully vaccinated per hour.
Essential commodities can be delivered around the clock through e-commerce, with pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres, and veterinary clinics open 24 hours a day.
“Fully vaccinated viewers and observance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour will be allowed in cinema halls and theatres with a 50% seating capacity,” according to the official statement. (ANI)
