On the occasion of Durga Puja, the state government has already issued new SOP. Puja pandal should be wide wide. Entry and exit must be different.If the Puja mandap is suspicious, the district administration can make arrangements for testing. Volunteers, priests all have to take a single vaccine.

Each district administration will hold an early meeting with the Puja Committee/Organizing Committee which regularly observes Durga Puja in their respective districts to inform them about the covid protocol related to puja.

Durga Puja can be organized with the prior permission of the district administration and in full compliance with the covid rules.

The district administration has to be briefed in advance while seeking permission from the organising committee on how many people are likely to attend a puja.

60 devotees can enter the famous religious place of history at a time. Only those who have taken the entire two vaccines can enter the mandap. Only 40 people can enter other religious places at a time. Puja pandals are also allowed to enter only those who take two vaccines.

Some of the rules tied up for puja mandapa/puja sthal:

  • The place of worship has to be quite wide and kept openly from all sides.
  • There should be plenty of space in each puja place/puja mandap to be done as per the covid rules of minimum physical interval between any two people/visitors
  • There should be separate arrangements for entry and exit of puja places/puja mandaps
  • The organizer has to keep the appropriate plaque sat idling in the eyes of the visitors from the entrance to the exit
  • The puja venue/puja mandap will not be allowed to attract large numbers of people at the same time
  • Strict restrictions will be imposed on organizing programmes like cultural evenings before or during durga puja as per the guidelines issued by the State Disaster Management Authority in the case of public public
  • Neither the organizing committee nor anyone else will be able to hold any fair outside or near the place of worship.

Some of the rules for organizers, volunteers, worshippers, devotees/visitors are:

  • The district administration will ensure that at least one dose of covid vaccine is administered by the officials, volunteers, priests from the organizing committee at the time of grant of permission by the Random Checkingৰ. Cannot allow otherwise
  • At least only those who have been vaccinated against a single covid can come for puja darshan
  • No one above the age of 18 who has not been vaccinated will be able to enter the puja mandap/puja site. There will be exemptions for those below 18 years of age in this regard.
  • They will have to undergo a covid test again even after the idol is distributed on dashami.
