In the video, the so-called “photographer” can be seen jumping on the lifeless body of a protestor who was shot in the chest by police.
The “photographer” is identified as Bijay Shankar Baniya and is arrested by the Assam police.
As per the wish of the Assam Chief Minister the cameraman has been put into bars and the matter is been investigated thoroughly.
At least, two people were killed in police firing when a large crowd obstructed the police and local administration from carrying out a massive eviction drive at Gorukhuti village in Assam’s Darrang district.
The two-person that was killed in the firing were identified as Saddam Hussain and Sheikh Farid.
The eviction drive was carried out to free 4,500 bighas of government land that was occupied by 800 Villagers of the Darrang district.
Therefore the ragged villagers staged protests against the police and the officials and pelted stones on the police personals.
As a result of the incident, the Assam government has ordered a judicial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the police shooting.
