Multiple houses were set to fire along the Assam-Mizoram border area on Tuesday. Many sustained injuries during the clash.
The tension broke out at the disputed area of Bairabi-Zophai in Mizoram’s Kolasib district known as Kachurthal in Assam’s Hailakandi district.
Clashes broke out between locals of both the sides in the afternoon, however it is not ascertain as to how many persons sustained injuries during the clash.
According to reports, 20 houses got destroyed by miscreants in the evening on the Assam side, whereas minimum 6 farm huts were set ablaze by miscreants on Mizoram side.
Police and district administration of both states rushed to the sport to assess the situation.
“There is a team on the ground investigating the matter,” said Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi district – Megh Nidhi Dahal.
