Assam CM Sarma campaigned for Jolen Daimary of UPPL; sanctioned Rs 10 crore for New stadium in Tamulpur

Assam CM Sarma, said on Saturday that the state government will fund Rs. 10 crore for the construction of a new stadium at Owbari, Tamulpur.

CM Sarma made the remark at an electoral rally in support of Jolen Daimary of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).

Taking to his Twitter Assam CM Sarma wrote, “We will sanction ₹10 cr for construction of a new Stadium at Owbari. In addition to existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under Orunodoi scheme. Earlier, visited Shiva Mandir near the meeting venue & prayed for wellbeing of Assam.”

The CM Sarma also notifed in addition to the existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under the Orunodoi scheme.

Another bridge across the same river is nearing completion in Jartaluk, and construction of a medical college and hospital for the community will begin soon. Assam CM Sarma stated that by Republic Day next year, Tamulpur will be a full-fledged district,

The statement also mentions the opening of a medical college and hospital in the town, as well as the imminent completion of another bridge across the same river in Jartalauk.

Finally, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma encouraged residents of the state to become familiar with COVID-19 guidelines and to acquire the two doses of COVID vaccine as soon as possible to protect themselves against the deadly virus’s spread. In his speech, he even revealed how the COVID virus had damaged the late Tamulpur MLA, forcing the by-poll.

On Saturday, the opposition party Congress in Assam claimed that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had been arrested while campaigning for the October 30 by-elections. The opposition has accused Sarma of violating the Model Code of Conduct by promising development activities for Assam in poll-bound areas.
