Nagaland records 14 new COVID-19 cases

Nagaland on Tuesday recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases of high quality instances even as one extra affected person succumbed to the infection. Of the clean instances, 10 had been from Dimapur, 3 in Mokokchung and one in Kohima, taking the overall caseload to 31641.

According to the report from the department of Health and Family Welfare, there were 10 positive cases reported in Dimapur, three cases in Mokokchung and one in Kohima. The state has also seen 17 healings, out of which 7 cases were from Dimapur, four from both Kohima and Phek and the rest 2 cases in Mokochung.

Further, one extra affected person succumbed to the virus in Dimapur, pushing the loss of life toll to 676.

At the same time, a total of 11.52,882 people were vaccinated against Covid until October 19, of which 703,273 received the first dose and 449,609 the second. PTI: India registered 13,058 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 3.40 94,373, while the death toll rose to 4.52,454 with 164 new deaths.

Nagaland currently has 247 active cases, out of which 178 are asymptomatic, 52 are mild, 6 moderate on oxygen, 7 severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator and 3 in ICU on ventilator.

As for the distribution of active Covid19 cases by district, Dimapur has the highest number with 128 cases, followed by Kohima with 45.30 in Tuensang, 25 in Mokochung, eight in Longleng, four in Phek, three in Mon, two in Peren and one each in Kiphire and Wokha, while Zunhenboto is Covid-free.
