Taba Tedir, the Minister of Education, lauded the Pema Khandu government for adopting the best education policy to date, focusing mostly on teacher training, which had never been done before.
Minister was speaking at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre on Tuesday during a training programme on sensitization of various schemes of Samagra Shiksha: Integrated Scheme for School Education for the 1st Batch of Zila Parishad Chairpersons, Zila Parishad members of 13 districts, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chief Councilors and Corporators of Itanagar Municipal Corporation and Pasighat.
Tedir also advised PRI members to understand the New Education Policy in order to help the country’s progress. Tedir also requested them to raise awareness of the Samagra shiksha’s programmes at the grassroots level. He urged the attendees to use the sensitization programme to its maximum potential for the sake of society.
Earlier, Ms Soumya Saurabh, Special Secretary, Elementary Education, stated that the state government has decided to open 300 Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) centres in the state because the National Education Policy commits to universal access to quality early childhood education for all children under the age of six.
She also stated that the issue of school dropout needs to be addressed. She praised the state government for launching Mission Shiksha, which aims to give high-quality education to pupils in a better learning environment while also boosting teacher morale.
The second batch of the sensitization campaign is set to begin on the 28th of this month. Ms Soumya Saurabh, Special Secretary, Elementary Education, GoAP, Neelam Tan, Dy.SPD, Samagra Shiksha:ISSE, Itanagar, Mido Kamki, SPC, Samagra Shiksha, and others from the education department also attended the function.
