Arunachal Will Soon Open for Tourist & Visitors: CM Pema Khandu

Arunachal Pradesh Chief minister Pema Khandu on Friday informed that the State will soon open for Tourist and Visitors. CM assured this in a response to a Three-point Memorandum submitted by Arunachal Himalayan Tourism Development Society (AHTDS) President Tsering Wange at Bomdila in West Kameng District.

“Thousands of people working in the tourism industry have almost lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19-induced lockdowns”, said AHTDS secretary Tashi Tsering.

The Union also urged the Arunachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board to waive off the pollution fees for Hoteliers hit hard by the Pandemic.

CM Pema Khandu gave an encouraging nod to all the points mentioned in the memorandum for ‘survival and revival’ of Tourism in the State. He stated that he’s fully aware of the challenges faced by the State’s Tourism and hospitality Industries because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

He assured to improve the issues faced by the Tourism and Hospitality Sector.

Meanwhile, AHTDS had also requested the State Government to open the State for Tourists and Visitors with appropriate SOPs in place.

It is to be mentioned that the Tourism Industry in Arunachal had suffered a lot due to the ongoing COVID19 Pandemic. It had adversely affected the livelihood of many stakeholders as well as the State’s revenue earning.
