Mizoram reports 1 Covid death, 158 new positive cases

Mizoram reported 1 more Covid-19 death and 158 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. With the demise of 1 more patient due to Covid-19 infection, the total number Covid deaths recorded in Mizoram increased to 412 on Monday. The positivity rate stood at 6.05% on Monday.

While 1 case was found positive during TrueNAT test 157 new cases were detected during RAgT test. With these cases, Mizoram has so far registered 117,419 positive cases. Mizoram currently has a total of 8,080 active Covid-19 cases.

Of the total active cases in Mizoram, Aizawl district has 4607 cases, Lunglei – 620, Siaha – 394, Champhai – 455, Kolasib – 192, Serchhip – 743, Lawngtlai – 312, Mamit – 450, Khawzawl – 29, Hnahthial – 202 and Saitual has 76 active cases.

According to the health bulletin released by the directorate of information & public relations, Mizoram, at 5 am on Sunday, a total of 796 people recovered from the infection. Of the recoveries, Aizawl district recorded 540, Lunglei-126, Siaha-64, Champhai-22, Mamit-14, Lawngtlai-11, Kolasib-9, Saitual-8 and Khazawl district recorded 3 recoveries.

Mizoram’s recovery rate on Sunday stood at 92.71%. On Sunday, Mizoram reported a total of 572 Covid19 positive cases and 4 deaths. The positivity rate stood at 9.4% on Sunday.

As the Union government strengthens focus on achieving the national vaccination target by the end of the year, India witnessed a single-day rise of 16,326 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 3,41,59,562 while the active cases have declined to 1,73,728, the lowest in 233 days, according to the Union health ministry’s data updated on Saturday.

The government also released an advisory ahead of the major festivals like Diwali, Dhanteras, Eid next month for the commons promoting online shopping and avoiding unnecessary travel to stop infection rates from spiralling.
