Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona emphasized the importance of carrying out intensive testing at the points of entry to break the coronavirus infection transmission chain, apart from educating the people about the virus.
Participating in a virtual meeting chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday, Sona said that collective efforts by all are the need of the hour to defeat the pandemic. The presiding officers of the state legislatures and other leaders took part in the meeting initiated by the Lok Sabha speaker to discuss the role and responsibility of the public representatives in the fight against the pandemic.
Informing about the current coronavirus situation in Arunachal, the speaker said that as of now, the state’s situation is quite better than many other states “but it can turn bad in the coming days if not properly managed.”
Highlighting the various steps taken up by the Arunachal assembly last year to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, Sona assured that this year too, the state assembly is ready and will initiate necessary steps in this direction.
