The newly-appointed Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), G K Reddy has assured to set up six science centres across Arunachal Pradesh. The union minister assured this to the delegation from the State led by MPs Tapir Gao and Nabam Rebia.
The delegation from Arunachal Pradesh led by MP Tapir Gao, Nabam Rebia (Rajya Sabha) and Bamang Mangha, Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology called on the union minister at his office in New Delhi on Thursday.
The delegation submitted a proposal for the setting up of Six science centres (category-II) across Arunachal Pradesh. The proposal was submitted under the scheme for promotion of the culture of science (SPOCS), which is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture through the National Council for Science Museums (NCSM), Kolkata.
The delegation also called on Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy Raj Kumar Singh at his office and submitted a representation for sanctioning of 12 micro hydel projects.
The union minister assured to look into the matter.
