Dismissal of Assam CM demanded Youth Congress of 5 Northeastern states

The Pradesh Youth Congress (PYCs) of five Northeastern states demanded that the BJP central leaderships remove Himanta Biswa Sarma as Assam CM for a “peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in the region,” citing an increase in border aggression and the use of force by the Assam government against its neighbouring states since Sarma took office.

They claim that citizens living in border areas face the brunt of these aggressions, with farmland, crops, and infrastructure being destroyed, and residents being harassed and intimidated on a regular basis by armed Assam Police.

“These incidents are causing a lot of ill-feeling amongst the people of North East India, and has caused serious damage to the unity and sister-hood of the North Eastern states,” the PYCs of Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress said in a joint press statement on Wednesday.
