Arunachal: ICR DC Convenes Meeting on Building Bylaws Implementation

Deputy Commissioner of Itanagar Capital Complex, Talo Potom on Monday informed that Building Bylaws will be implemented in letter and spirit to check haphazard growth, illegal construction activities and rampant encroachment in capital regions.

DC Potom in a meeting with Officers and officials of the Town Planning Department discussed obtaining building permits and other related issues.

The DC urged denizens to follow Arunachal Pradesh Building Bylaws for systematic growth and to minimize the damages caused due to disasters. He further informed that any individual seeking building permit must obtain land allotment and land possession certificate.

Assistant Town Planner, ICC, Tabom Tamut clarified that AP Building Bylaws are applicable to both rural and urban areas, it is not only for the capital complex but for the whole State, as per Arunachal Pradesh Urban and Country Planning Act, 2007.

They also discussed the issue of NOC for new and pending allotment in the ICC. The purpose of the NOC is to ensure that the applicants are devoid of encroachment, illegal construction, vulnerable locations and obstructions of storm water drainage.

The DC later informed that a meeting would be convened soon with various practising architects in the ICC to ease the charges made by them and to make the charges affordable for everyone.
